Most arrived in Israel with almost nothing at all. Yet Israeli expenses are higher than a lot of other countries.
Hearing about one of the Israel Relief Aid distribution centers was a Godsend for them.
Not only clothing, shoes and household goods are available to them but this month . . . a food bag! Inside these bags was foods that Ukrainians eat regularly.
Notice the many women. The husbands and older sons are conscripted into the Ukrainian armed services to defend the country.
However, as happened the other day when we were in the post office, the husband died and the wife had to fly back for the funeral.
It’s a hard situation and feels good to help them where we can with basic things they need to make it through the week.
