Few words are as well-known to Israelis as the lyrics of Hatikvah, meaning “The Hope”. I am always touched when the anthem is played and especially the word “hope” that so powerfully moves me.
When looking into the reality of today in Israel, we have to admit that there is a large group of people living with less or even no hope: the parents who cannot give a proper breakfast to their children, the Shoa survivors who live below the poverty line and have to choose between medicines or food, those who can not afford to buy clothing, visiting our aid distribution centers.
Our goal is to bring hope to the people with downcast, sad eyes. Israel Relief Aid thanks you for helping us to bring back their shiny eyes and big smile! We hope we can continue to rely on your support again in 2022, to give hope to those in living despair.
To be a free nation in our land, the land of Zion, Jerusalem. – Max Veenstra, Chairman
2021 showed me how fortunate I am to work with a host of people that doesn’t give up when there is an obstacle facing them.
Your hands make it possible for Israeli families to take care of unmet basic needs. With your help, we’ve blessed Holocaust Survivors, the homeless, the disabled, single parent families, fed numerous sectors around the country, fed hungry Beta Israel families, Christians, Jews and Arabs in poverty cities, hundreds of new immigrants, stocked the kitchens of various shelters around the country, shocking Jews and Arabs to think about love in simple food bags from opposing religions, and projects all over the country.
Seeing how you all rallied to the cause of Israelis in poverty has inspired our team greatly as we reach out in the Holy Land for you!I would like to thank each one of you for your drive, commitment and dedication in such a challenging year!
Let’s charge forward in 2022 not losing sight of the many, many blessings we’ve been given. Together let’s keep the faith and hold tight to that bold and unshakeable resilience. That’s how we’ll continue to put our hand toward a better future in the Israeli nation.
On behalf of all of us at Israel Relief Aid, I wish you a happy, healthy and prosperous 2022 – Jo Kaplan, CEO.
