In our Jerusalem Zion Aid Center, there are many needs, as the city’s Mea Shearim neighborhood has
been named one of the poorest in the country (Israel Bureau of
Statistics, 8/19).
Who comes for help from the aid center? Andre and Marta came from the former Soviet
Union. Andre says, “We are family of 6
people: my wife and I, and our 4
children. We have been living in Israel for 7 years. We both work, but our income is not big
enough to buy clothing. Therefore we are
very thankful to you for your help. We
got children’s clothes for free and my wife also got a pair of shoes.”
On September 16 a large cargo
ship carrying our 40-foot shipping container is to arrive to Israel. This container is destined for Jerusalem as
one of its first stops.
It will arrive exactly to this aid center to unload a large amount of stock for this aid center and several others before it goes on to its other distribution points. This container holds more new shoes, clothing, women’s hygiene items, and toiletry bags.
