Ramle is a mixed city of Middle Eastern Jews, Muslim Arabs, Christian Arabs, Ethiopian Jews and Russian Jews. It’s not unusual to hear English, Arabic, Amharic, Russian and Hebrew at any given time.
Though Ramle is an up-and-coming city, it is still a low-socioeconomic area lacking in public resources. Yet Ramle has a population of over 76,000 in financial distress.
For this reason Israel Relief Aid tries to help Ramle with the most requested item: food bags. This time, our bags contained spaghetti, peas, rice, lentils, buckwheat, bowtie pasta, pickles, couscous and garbanzo beans.
The recipients were all Holocaust Survivors and elderly. When we talk about the need, they are most in need.
