Stewardship Matters: DIY Container Unloading in Haifa

Aid center managers picking up aid from our Israel Relief Aid container

Aid center managers from all over the north will bring their largest vehicle to a container unloading.  This is an incredible way to help everyone without wasting donor funds on warehousing aid.  AS soon as a container arrives to us in Israel, we have all the aid center managers drive over and pick up what they need, instead of storing it. It’s a win-win.

There is always a lot of excitement waiting for the doors to open and seeing what will be brought out.

They love to open a box or two, see the great items coming in, but really don’t have time to do too much of that.

This is a Do-It-Yourself project.  Once the doors open, the goal is to give to each center quickly the items that they will take back to their aid centers and distribute.

Some can take a huge amount of boxes and actually have to take several trips over to their aid center with their vehicle. That’s why we unload usually both in the north and south of Israel so the unloading is not too far from the aid centers.

Some are pro’s at loading their vehicle very high.

The key is going early at 6 a.m. and finishing as soon as possible before the heat of the day or any foul weather.
