In the month of May in honor of the Shavuot holiday, bags of food were packed and delivered to Jewish residents in poverty in the Galilee city of Nof HaGalil.

In addition to the bags, boxes of food were also given out, as well as shoes.

This was a reconciliation project, and the Jewish recipients were quite surprised, especially with regards to the recent skirmish with the Arab sector. Actually, there are two sectors of Arabs in Israel – Muslim and Christian. So not all Arabs participated in the riots and Day of Rage.

This project was very special and it was “touch and go” for a while because the Christian Arabs were actually afraid to approach the Jews in poverty, even with the food bag that they needed. The Christian Arabs were surrounded by Muslim Arabs, living together, in the middle of riots and tires burning.
They still went the extra mile to make it happen.
Israel Relief Aid wants to thank the ones that packed the bags, and those that gave to the people, and ALSO, YOU, all our friends who helped with the food purchase. Thank you for a successful project of reconciliation at this crucial time!
