Over the past decade, total immigration to Israel in 2018 of almost 30,000 has virtually doubled (from nearly 15,500 in 2008) – mostly from Russia and Ukraine.
When an immigrant/family comes from those two countries, many times they will come as a tourist and then during the time they are here, they decide to immigrate. What happens with that process is that they have come with only two suitcases each, for their new life in Israel, don’t have jobs (almost always) and cash is down.
Of the three basic needs of man (food/clothing/shelter), food comes first.
Israel Relief Aid wanted to help, so last month we gave food boxes to unemployed heads of household in Tel Aviv (destitute families), as well as three houses in Rishon LeZion for Russian-Ukrainian immigrants that can’t even afford rent. Thanks to you!
